Frequently asked questions
How do I cut a section out of an MP3?
The audio is drawn as a waveform, so you can see where the silence and the speech are. Drag across it to select the part you want, play the selection back to check, then export just that piece.
Why does my cut end with a click?
Because it lands mid-waveform, which is an abrupt jump in the signal. Add a short fade in and out — a few tenths of a second is enough — and the click disappears. Both fades are built in for exactly this.
Should I export MP3 or WAV?
MP3 for anything you're publishing or sending — far smaller and it plays everywhere. WAV when the clip is going into further editing, since it's lossless and won't accumulate compression artefacts through another round.
Is my recording uploaded?
No. It's decoded and trimmed in your browser, so an unreleased episode, an interview or a voice note stays on your machine.
